MENTOR ARABIA

Mentor Arabia, the regional branch of the global Mentor Foundation, was launched in 2006 to bring the mission of youth empowerment and drug abuse prevention to the Arab world. Headquartered in Beirut and operating across the Middle East and North Africa, Mentor Arabia works to safeguard the wellbeing of young people by promoting healthy lifestyles, building protective environments, and empowering youth to reach their full potential. Its programs are designed to address the region’s unique cultural and social contexts, engaging families, schools, communities, and policymakers in a shared effort to create safer, more supportive futures for Arab youth.

Dr. Allaghi has been a central figure in Mentor Arabia since its inception, serving as one of its driving forces and shaping its vision for the region. Drawing on her decades of experience in women’s rights, child protection, and civil society development, she helped ensure that Mentor Arabia’s initiatives addressed both prevention and empowerment, reaching marginalized groups and amplifying youth voices. Her leadership has strengthened the foundation’s partnerships with governments, NGOs, and international agencies, anchoring Mentor Arabia as a respected regional authority on drug prevention and youth wellbeing.

Her close collaboration with Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, Mentor’s global patron, has further elevated Mentor Arabia’s work, aligning it with international best practices while tailoring it to regional realities. Under this shared vision, Mentor Arabia has had a measurable impact, fostering resilience in young people, raising awareness among families and educators, and equipping communities with the tools to confront substance abuse challenges.

Mentor Arabia’s story is one of innovation and regional leadership—transforming a global mission into a local force for change. Through its programs and advocacy, it has not only advanced the wellbeing of countless young people but has also placed youth empowerment firmly on the development agenda in the Arab world.
